Emotional
Well-being: The foundation of SmartHealth approach
is the trusted family relationship network. Nclaves
provides a growing number
of tools for different family members to connect,
share and plan events so that they can build strong
relationships among each other. A number of our customers
have used these relationship tools to build what they
call a second cousin's club. Even if they do
not meet in person, tools such as audio/video chat bring
second cousins together inspite of their residing in
different countries around the world. Grandparents can
build strong relationships with the younger ones to
exchange life stories, culture and much more.
Safety and Security:
Overlaying the relationship network are tools and technologies that
allow access to digital
home appliances such as security or temperature monitors.
Family members can build a virtual safety and security circle among
themselves and reduce the anxiety of being lonely.
Monitor
Health: Nclaves also provides seamless access to personal health
devices such as blood pressure monitor, weigh scales using industry standards such as Continua
Alliance/IEEE.
Individual members can collect health data and later retrieve it for
analysis. They can allow selected enclave members to view that data
remotely. They can also provide this information to external healthcare
providers as needed. Routine collection of health data in the
convenience of own home should help professional caregivers in many
ways.
Mental Agility:
Nclaves brain games
are unique because they can provide access to locally connected devices
too. That will allow the games to be not only cognitive but also
physio-cognitive (that is, combine physiotherapeutic activity along
with mind exercise).
Platform Availability:
The Nclaves client application runs outside the browser for utmost
safety, security and also to provide access to devices connected to the
PC (personal computer). It provides desktop-like
ease of use. (see
How it works ) This application is available on different
types of computers, including Windows, MacOS as well as Linux. The smartphone applications
allow a light access to the entire Nclaves functionality. A
browser-based ultra-light interface will be available in the near
future primarily to give an introduction to Nclaves functionality to
the new users.
Clearly,
many of these tools can be used together to bring a much
higher level of enjoyment. For example, playing brain games while doing
audio-video chat or, collecting health data and discuss it among
selected members - these are not only useful features but also
important to maintain a good health. Nclaves can be thought of as an
extensible framework for tools and technologies to empower families to
actively participate in managing health and caring among themselves in
a safe, secure, private online environment.
Looking
ahead, a variety of innovative features will be available. For example,
combining a family tree with health data of earlier generations could
well indicate what runs in the family and detect potential issues down
the line.
